Councillors 

The Parish Council consists of 9 Councillors, one Councillor is appointed as Chair at the Meetings and one as Vice-Chair. The Parish Clerk is employed by the Parish Council and acts as the Responsible Financial Officer, administrator and advises the Parish Council on lawful decision making and implementation. The Parish Council works to a set of rules called Standing Orders. These are available for the public to view either online or by contacting the Clerk.

Richard has lived in Woodsetts since November 1972 and was on the Parish Council from 1979 to 1995. He returned onto the Council in May 2003 as Chairman and has held the position since.

Richard is an active member of the village and is also a member of Woodsetts Village Hall Management Committee, President of and umpire for Woodsetts Cricket Club and member of the Millennium and Neighbourhood Watch groups.

Monica was born in Ireland and came to England in 1967.  She married Phillip in 1971 and together they moved to Woodsetts. Monica has three children and four grandchildren.

She became a Parish Councillor in 1983 and has remained so until the current day with a passion about the well being of all residents in Woodsetts and their quality of life.  As an active member of the village, Monica is involved in a number of groups and was instrumental in securing funding to build the village hall and set up the Millennium Group and the Midsummer Festival.

Since moving to Woodsetts in 1997 Michael has become involved with several village organisations. He was one of the founder members of the very successful ‘Local History Society’ and took an active part in helping to organise the first ‘Midsummer Festival’ in 2000 and is still a member of the team today. Michael is a member of the Neighbourhood Watch and editor of ‘Woodsetts Watch’, our neighbourhood watch newsletter and the ‘Parish Newsletter’. Michael has been a Parish councillor since 2002.

 Carol was born in West Yorkshire and came to live in Woodsetts with her family, in 1973.  She has three children, all of whom attended Woodsetts Primary and Dinnington Comprehensive Schools.

She became a Parish Councillor for the second time, in 2006 - the first time having served from 1983 to 1993.  Carol is an enthusiastic and active supporter of the village, being involved in a number of community and regional groups.  She has also been a Community Governor at Woodsetts Primary School for over six years.

Robert has lived in the Village for almost 20 years after moving from Farnborough in Hampshire when his employer transferred him to work in Sheffield. Prior to that he and his wife Maureen lived in the Midlands where he worked for a large engineering company, and prior to that he worked in Chapeltown near Sheffield.

He has been involved with Village life for almost all of the time he has lived in Woodsetts, firstly as a member of the Village Hall Management Committee, and for the last 6 years serving as Chair. He is also a member of the Woodsetts support group for the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice helping to organise fund-raising events. He has been a Parish Councillor for several years, and hopes to remain on the Parish Council for some years to come.

Both Robert and his wife enjoy living in the Village, and hope that its peaceful nature will never be changed.

Ken and his wife Pam came to live in Woodsetts in 1971 and raised a family of 3 boys. He has been involved with various village organisations over the years including a member of the Parish Council for 30 years. Ken is Chair of the Bonfire and Fireworks Committee.
